Our Wedding

Like many modern day couples, we met on a dating app (Bumble). After messaging briefly on the app, we went on our first date. We met for drinks, but stayed for dinner because the date was going so well. We talked for hours about our shared love of traveling the world, ice hockey, dogs, and so much more. We also discovered that we grew up 30 minutes from each other in North Texas!!!!! After our first date, we dated for six weeks before Joe moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina for six months. Once he left, we continued getting to know each other via text and FaceTime, and we met up every four to six weeks somewhere around the world. Our first trip was to Costa Rica. It was an amazing trip — except for Shannon getting eaten alive by bugs! After months of long distance, Joe moved back to Seattle and moved in with Shannon and Shannon's tiny and adorable dog, Gidget. Our story is uniquely us. And as the saying goes, when you know, you know!

We are so glad you're joining us in the Canadian Rocky Mountains!!! To get to Canmore, fly into Calgary International Airport (YYC) and rent a car. The drive from the airport to Canmore is 75 minutes. We recommend you book your flight and rental car early as rates climb and rental cars can sell out during the summer season! If driving isn't your thing, shuttle services like the <a href="https://banffairporter.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Banff Airporter</a> run regularly between the airport and Canmore. AccommodationsWe recommend staying in Canmore, a walkable city outside of Banff National Park, and the location of our wedding reception. There are many hotels and vacation rentals available. Book your accommodations ASAP as hotels can fill up quickly in the summer, especially on weekends! A tip from us: The town of Banff is beautiful, but touristy and pricier, and staying there means an extra drive to reach the rehearsal BBQ, shuttle pickup for the ceremony, and the reception venue — all in Canmore. We've spent time in both towns and Canmore is where you'll want to stay for our wedding. That said, plan to visit Banff — it's home to some of the most iconic sites in the Rockies! Below are some hotels convenient to our reception venue in Canmore.
